Eric Villepreux

Eric Villepreux

Eric began his career in drilling in 1987 by joining an international 'mud logging' company, armed with his BTS in Physics Chemistry and his DEUG A in 'Sciences and Structures of Matter'. He quickly joined the company IDF (International Drilling Fluids), a world leader, as a Drilling Fluids Technician. When IDF was acquired by Schlumberger, he was selected for comprehensive training as a Cementing Engineer (Dowell-SLB) which led to his position as Base Manager in Cameroon, overseeing 5 countries.

He then chose to work as a consultant for 5 years in the North Sea for TotalEnergies, onsite, and then for other operators around the world.

His time in the North Sea exposed him to emerging environmental regulations (DTI) and motivated him to deepen his knowledge in this field, leading him back to university (INPL) for a Master's in Environmental Management (DHET).

From 2010, as Superintendent of Fluids and Cements, also responsible for the rational management of cuttings, he consistently integrated environmental criteria into his operational strategy choices, followed by ESG criteria, particularly with regard to the Service Companies he managed.

Eric then promoted the consideration of ESG factors among the operators for whom he worked as a consultant, serving as the interface between regulatory compliance obligations or desires for improvement in responsible performance and operators in the extractive industries (Oil and Gas, Geothermal, Storage, Mining).

In 2022, he took the position of director of VE Interface while continuing technical assistance missions, notably within the 'Drilling-Expert, Legal Services' as SME in Fluids, Cements, Waste Management, and ESG Factors.
